Les Shelleys, Part 1 - "I'm On Fire"

Les Shelleys is the American duo consisting of Tom Brosseau and Angela Correa. They came through Zürich in November to play a show at Helsinki Klub and afterward, in the "green room" (actually a small trailer), they played a few charming covers songs. I captured these songs on video and here is the first, a delightful cover of I'm On Fire by Bruce Springsteen:

Molly Rose in Zürich

Molly Rose is a musician from Seattle who recently moved to Zürich. After her first ever Swiss performance at Cafe Henrici, we headed out into the cold night and shot two videos for the Presented by Cafe Henrici series.

If you are not aware, TELEKINESIS is the project of seattle native Michael Benjamin Lerner. His first album, called TELEKINESIS! is excellent. It can be bought on iTunes or via the Merge Records website.

The song from this video is available from his EP Parallel Seismic Conspiracies.

A new TELEKINESIS album entitled "12 Desperate Straight Lines" is due in February.

Octoberman in November

Octoberman returned to Zürich with with a full band. After their show at Cafe Henrici, lead-man Mark hit the streets by himself and performed his song "Eddie and Rita". I love the lens flares in this video:

Later that evening Rita Hey performed at Cafe Henrici. You can see them perform Heavy Metal Relationship on Youtube. I really enjoyed their performance, and their album We Know You Well, Sweet Misery is also very good.

The Human Statues

A few weeks ago Jeff Bryant of the Canadian duo The Human Statues came through Zürich to play a gig at Cafe Henrici. The next day we got together and made a couple of videos in the Niederdorf. The first song was tricky for me because I was walking backwards:

The second song was tricky for Jeff because this time, he had to walk backwards. Playing guitar while walking backwards is probably harder than holding a camera.
